ðÿäîì êëþ÷åâûõ ôèãóð îáùåñòâîâåäåíèÿ XIX-XX âåêîâ.
Ê.Ìàðêñ âûäâèíóë èäåþ òîâàðíîãî ôåòèøèçìà.
Àìåðèêàíåö Ò.Âåáëåí â êîíöå XIX â. ïðåäëîæèë òåîðèþ
ïîêàçíîãî (ïðåñòèæíîãî) ïîòðåáëåíèÿ. Íåìåöêèé
ñîöèîëîã Ã.Çèììåëü âûäâèíóë ðÿä êëþ÷åâûõ èäåé
òåîðèè ìîäû. Íåìåöêèé ñîöèîëîã è ýêîíîìèñò
Â.Çîìáàðò ïðåäëîæèë êîíöåïöèþ ðîñêîøè. Äðóãîé
íåìåöêèé ñîöèîëîã Ì.Âåáåð ñôîðìóëèðîâàë
êîíöåïöèþ ñòàòóñíûõ ãðóïï è ïðîòåñòàíòñêîé
ýòèêè. Ýòè èìåíà ÷àñòî öèòèðóþòñÿ â
èññëåäîâàíèÿõ ïîòðåáëåíèÿ. Áîëåå êîíêðåòíûå
èññëåäîâàíèÿ ïîâåäåíèÿ ïîòðåáèòåëåé ïîÿâèëèñü
ïîçæå. Ëîãèêà âîçíèêíîâåíèÿ ýòîãî íàïðàâëåíèÿ
ïðèìåðíî òàêîâà: ýêîíîìè÷åñêàÿ íàóêà ïîðîäèëà
ìàðêåòèíã, îäíèì èç ðàçäåëîâ êîòîðîãî ÿâëÿåòñÿ
"Ïîâåäåíèå ïîòðåáèòåëåé". Â äàëüíåéøåì èç
ìàðêåòèíãà âûäåëèëàñü ñàìîñòîÿòåëüíàÿ
äèñöèïëèíà "Ïîâåäåíèå ïîòðåáèòåëåé" (Belk: 58).
Âïåðâûå êóðñû ìàðêåòèíãà ñòàëè ÷èòàòüñÿ â
àìåðèêàíñêèõ óíèâåðñèòåòàõ â 1902 ã. Íî ëèøü â
êîíöå 1920-õ - íà÷àëå 1930-õ ãã. ïðåïîäàâàòåëè, êîòîðûå
÷èòàëè ýòè êóðñû, ñòàëè ñ÷èòàòü ñåáÿ áîëåå
ìàðêåòîëîãàìè (marketing scholars), ÷åì ýêîíîìèñòàìè. Â
òå÷åíèå 1930-õ ãã. ñîçäàíèå Àìåðèêàíñêîé
ìàðêåòèíãîâîé àññîöèàöèè è ñîçäàíèå
ïåðèîäè÷åñêîãî îðãàíà - "Journal of Marketing" -
ñèìâîëèçèðîâàëè óæå îòäåëåíèå ìàðêåòèíãà îò
ýêîíîìè÷åñêîé òåîðèè (economics). Ðàçâèòèå
"Ïîâåäåíèÿ ïîòðåáèòåëÿ" êàê îòäåëüíîé
ó÷åáíîé äèñöèïëèíû íà÷àëîñü â ÑØÀ â 1950-å ãã. â
ðàìêàõ êàôåäð ìàðêåòèíãà êîììåð÷åñêèõ êîëëåäæåé
è áèçíåñøêîë. Èññëåäîâàíèÿ æå ïîòðåáèòåëüñêîãî
ïîâåäåíèÿ â Ñåâåðíîé Àìåðèêå è Åâðîïå íà÷àëèñü
ðàíüøå. Òàê, óæå â êîíöå 1920-õ - íà÷àëå 1930-õ ãã. Ïîë
Ëàçàðñôåëä (Lazarsfeld) è åãî êîëëåãè â Âåíå ïðîâîäèëè
ñ ïîìîùüþ îïðîñîâ ïîòðåáèòåëåé èçó÷åíèå ðûíêà
ðÿäà òîâàðîâ ïîâñåäíåâíîãî ñïðîñà (Belk: 58).
